Ben Jensen

Partner

Ben Jensen’s practice centers on Utah water law and water rights. He represents water users, including municipalities, irrigation companies and shareholders, special service districts, and water development interests. His practice also emphasizes other real property interests.

Before joining Mabey Wright & James, Ben represented state and federal water agencies.  He represented the Utah State Engineer and the Utah Division of Water Rights, primarily on general adjudication matters pending in district courts throughout the state and, prior to law school, worked for the Utah Division of Water Rights as an adjudication specialist. In addition, he worked in the United States Department of Interior’s Office of the Solicitor where he represented the Bureau of Reclamation’s Lower Colorado Region advising on lower basin Colorado River mainstem water contracting, fallowing agreements (system conservation agreements), water accounting and operations, and water transfers.

Ben has been listed in Utah Business magazine’s Legal Elite in Energy & Natural Resources in 2020 and 2021.
