FAQs
What should I bring to my first meeting with an attorney?
Any documents pertaining to your case. Including emails, handbooks, or anything else you think might be relevant.
Will you provide an estimated litigation budget before beginning work?
Yes.
Will you work on a contingency fee basis?
Yes, depending on the case.
Will you work on a modified or mixed hourly/contingent fee basis?
Yes, depending on the case.
Will you bill me every time I call to check on the case or to provide information?
No. We routinely “no charge” such calls.
Will you work with other counsel I may wish to retain to assist?
Ordinarily, yes. It is not likely that I would be willing to take instructions from other counsel, however.
Will your hourly rate increase during the duration of my case?
Possibly. It depends on how long the case lasts and whether we have an agreement not to raise rates. I typically review my rates yearly to adjust to the market. My current rate is well below standard rates for others with similar experience.
Do you or your firm buy and sell, appraise or broker water rights or water shares?
No. We will refer clients with such needs to others.
Does your firm represent both businesses and plaintiffs in employment matters?
Yes.
